the Power of Pluto - Susan Boyle's incredible rise to fame ( sudden rise late in life - total transformation )

Susan Magdalane Boyle (born 1 April 1961) is a Scottish singer who came to international public attention when she appeared as a contestant on the TV programme Britain's Got Talent on 11 April 2009, singing "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables....Susan Boyle's initial appearance on the talent show fired public imagination when her modest stage introduction and thick speaking accent left audience, viewers and judges alike unprepared for the power and expression of her mezzo-soprano voice. Before she had finished the song's opening phrase a standing ovation for Boyle had erupted. An international media and Internet response coincided. Within nine days of the audition, videos of Boyle—from the show, various interviews and her 1999 rendition of "Cry Me a River"—had been watched over 100 million times. Boyle's debut album, I Dreamed a Dream (2009) instantly became the UK's best-selling debut album of all time.

video :  Susan Boyle - Britains Got Talent 2009, 11th April

Boyle was raised in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland. Her father, Patrick Boyle, was a miner and veteran of the Second World War who also worked as a singer at the Bishop's Blaize; her mother Bridget was a shorthand typist...Boyle was the youngest of four brothers and five sisters. She was briefly deprived of oxygen during a difficult birth resulting in a learning disability. Boyle says she was bullied as a child, and was nicknamed "Susie Simple" at school. After leaving school with few qualifications, she was employed for the only time in her life as a trainee cook in the kitchen of West Lothian College for six months,[23] took part in government training programmes,  and performed at local venues...

When Boyle first appeared on Britain's Got Talent at the city's Clyde Auditorium, she said that she aspired to become a professional singer "as successful as Elaine Paige". Boyle sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables in the first round of the third series of Britain's Got Talent, which was watched by over 10 million viewers when it aired on 11 April 2009.  Programme judge Amanda Holden remarked upon the audience's initially cynical attitude, and the subsequent "biggest wake-up call ever" upon hearing her performance. This performance was widely reported and tens of millions of people viewed the video on YouTube. Boyle was "absolutely gobsmacked" by the strength of this reaction. Since the appearance, Paige has expressed interest in singing a duet with Boyle,  and has called her "a role model for everyone who has a dream"...

Bocelli, Andrea ( Italian singer / blindness )

Andrea Bocelli, (born 22 September 1958) is an Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist and classical crossover artist.

As a young boy, Bocelli showed a great passion for music. His mother has said that music was the only thing that would comfort him. At the age of six, he started piano lessons, and later also learned to play the flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, harp, guitar and drums. Bocelli would also spend time singing during his childhood...

...With the exception of the negative views of some Classical music critics, Bocelli is widely celebrated as a singer and is admired around the world. His voice's timbre is as recognisable as a signature, with a versatility ranging from the Bel canto to the furore of Verismo, from the sacred repertoire to popular ballads...

Loss of sight

It was evident at birth that Bocelli had problems with his sight, and after visits to many doctors, he was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma. In 1970, at the age of 12, he lost his sight completely following an accident during a football game. He was accidentally hit on the head during a match and suffered a brain haemorrhage. Doctors resorted to leeches in a desperate last-ditch effort to save his sight, but they were unsuccessful, and he remained blind...

Patsy Cline : fatal airplane accident

Patsy Cline (September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963) was an American country music singer as part of the early 1960s Nashville sound. Cline successfully "crossed over" to pop music. At age 30, she died at the height of her career in a private plane crash....

prone to accidents ... On June 14, 1961 she and her brother Sam were involved in a head-on collision on Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville, the second and more serious of two crashes during her lifetime. The impact threw Cline into the windshield, nearly killing her. Upon arriving at the scene, Dottie West picked glass from Patsy's hair, and went with her in the ambulance. When help arrived, Patsy insisted that the other car's driver be treated first, an event which had a long-term detrimental effect on Dottie...

fatal airplane accident case ...Friends Dottie West, June Carter Cash, and Loretta Lynn recalled Cline telling them during 1962–1963 that she felt a sense of impending doom and did not expect to live much longer. Cline, known for her generosity, had begun giving away personal items to friends, writing her will on Delta Air Lines stationery and asking close friends to care for her children should anything happen to her. She told Jordanaires back-up singer Ray Walker as she exited the Grand Ole Opry the week before her death: "Honey, I've had two bad ones (accidents). The third one will either be a charm or it'll kill me."

On March 3, 1963 Cline performed at a benefit at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, Kansas City, Kansas for the family of disc jockey "Cactus" Jack Call...Cline, who had spent the night at the Town House Motor Hotel, was unable to fly out the day after the concert because Fairfax Airport was fogged in. West asked Patsy to ride in the car with her and husband, Bill, back to Nashville (approximately a 16 hour drive), but Cline refused, saying, "Don't worry about me, Hoss. When it's my time to go, it's my time...

...Hughes was the pilot, but was not trained in instrument flying. Hawkins had accepted Billy Walker's seat after Walker left on a commercial flight to take care of a stricken family member. The Dyersburg, Tennessee airfield manager suggested that they stay the night after advising of high winds and inclement weather, and even offered them free rooms and meals, but Hughes responded, "I've already come this far. We'll be there before you know it." The plane took off at 6:07 p.m.... Cline's flight encountered inclement weather and crashed on the evening of March 5, 1963. Her recovered wristwatch had stopped at approximately 6:20 p.m. The plane wreckage was located approximately 90 miles (140 km) from its Nashville destination in a forest outside Camden, Tennessee. Forensic examinations concluded that everyone aboard had been killed instantaneously from their injuries and did not suffer.

Bobby Darin case

Case details : Bobby Darin

''I want to make it faster than anyone has ever made it before. I'd like to be a legend by the time I'm 25.'' ( Bobby Darin )

general : Legendary entertainer Bobby Darin had a wide range of talent. Darin rose from poor beginnings in Harlem and the South Bronx.

confusion about his roots : The child of a single mother, he was brought up believing that his grandmother Polly was actually his mother and that his birth mother was his older sister. This ruse prevailed until Darin was an adult. When he learned the truth, his response was an unwavering rage.
His grandfather Saverio Anthony Cassotto died in prison from narcotics withdrawal seven months before son was born.

health issues / short life expectancy  : He fought rheumatic fever when he was about eight years old, which damaged his heart and plagued him throughout his life.  He soon became aware of a doctors' diagnosis to a family member that he would not live long, perhaps into his teens or with luck to the age of thirty at the very outside.

extremely ambitious :  As a result of these obstacles, he worked extremely hard to overcome them. Knowing his life would not be a long one, his ambition to succeed was fueled by an overwhelming desire to make it big in show business.

attitude towards his family :  He was cruelly indifferent to his own family, who scraped and sacrificed to give him music lessons. His moods could turn on a dime, lifelong loyalties could be instantly dissolved; his temper tantrums were explosive.
